Sunday November 03, 2013 – Instead of thinking we can handle things on our own, the things that weigh us down, we have to understand that Jesus is the head of the Gospel and through Him can we find relief from our sinful burdens.
Jesus Christ is the head of the Gospel. If I’m focused on the Gospel every day, it’s transforming me, it’s changing me, it’s taking me somewhere. – Pastor Dwayne Terry
Working Hard at Faith
Growing in Christ, Part 01
Gal 5:22-23 – 22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness, self- control. Against such there is no law.
Romans 1:16-17 – For I am not ashamed of the gospel…
God’s power comes.
Romans 1:16 – …because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.
Right things happen.
Romans 1:17 – For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed–a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”
Undeserved blessings come.
Matthew 25:29 – For whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them.
Let go of the guilt from past decisions and actions. Embrace change.
Romans 12:1-2 – Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God–this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will.
2 Corinthians 3:18 – And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
Grow more accustomed to hearing God’s voice than your own.
John 10:4 – When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice.
Get focused on moving forward.
Philippians 3:12-14 – Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. 13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
