Sunday May 18, 2014 – If you start a work and are unable to finish it, God’s Word says that people will look upon you with disdain. Obstacles such as tragedy, hurt, or business can get in the way of completing what God has called you to do. We are supposed to finish strong by staying focused, trusting in God, depending on each other and maintaining a futuristic mindset.

Look guys, do you want to see that kind of vision in your life? Do you want to see forward? Do you want to see to the second, third and fourth generations? Then it is time for you to start doing the things that God has called you to do. – Dwayne Terry

Unfinished Business

Luke 14:28 – “Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it?

Genesis 15:7 – He also said to him, “I am the LORD, who brought you out of Ur of the Chaldeans to give you this land to take possession of it.”

Genesis 11:31-32 – Terah took his son Abram, his grandson Lot son of Haran, and his daughter-in-law Sarai, the wife of his son Abram, and together they set out from Ur of the Chaldeans to go to Canaan. But when they came to Harran, they settled there. 32 Terah lived 205 years, and he died in Harran.

Genesis 11:28 – While his father Terah was still alive, Haran died in Ur of the Chaldeans, in the land of his birth.

Genesis 15:7 – He also said to him, “I am the LORD, who brought you out of Ur of the Chaldeans to give you this land to take possession of it.”

Finish Strong

• Keep your eyes on the prize.

2 Timothy 4:7-8 – I have fought the good fight, I have finished the
race, I have kept the faith. 8 Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day–and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.

• Trust in God’s power.

Proverbs 3:5-6 – Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

• Depend on each other.

Hebrews 3:12-13 – See to it, brothers and sisters, that none of you has
a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. 13 But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.

• Do not judge your direction by your current circumstances; judge it by where you want your fourth generation to be.

Genesis 15:16 – In the fourth generation your descendants will come back here, for the sin of the Amorites has not yet reached its full measure.”
