The Head Coach

Ephesians 5:21-23 – Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church…

The Coach’s Role

1) The coach calls the plays.

Luke 7:8 – For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell this one, “Go,” and he goes; and that one, “Come,” and he comes. I say to my servant, “Do this,” and he does it.

1 Corinthians 11:3 – Now I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.

 On general direction – the man decides and the woman confirms.

2) The coach trains the team.
Ephesians 6:4 – Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead,

bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.

Deuteronomy 11:18-19 – Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds…Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.

Team Huddles:

1) Pregame prayer.
2) Learn the playbook. 3) Teambuilding fun.

3) The coach rallies for victory.

1 Thessalonians 5:11 – Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.
