Sunday March 24, 2013 – The Lord’s Supper is a special time of communion and sharing. When you eat of the bread and drink of the cup you are examining inside yourself of who you are. It is a time of looking forward in your relationship with Christ.

The Lord’s Supper
Back to Basics, Part 03
1 Cor 11:23b-24 – …the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread; 24and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.”
1 Cor 11:25b – “This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.”
Communion: koinonia (koy-nohn-ee’-ah); participation, sharing, communion
1 Co 10:16 (NIV) – 16Is not the cup of thanksgiving for which we give thanks a participation in the blood of Christ? And is not the bread that we break a participation in the body of Christ?
1 Co 10:16 (NKJV) – 16The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?
1 Co 11:28-29 – 28But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup. 29For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.
What do you see inside? Look back.
Ex 12:26-27 – 26And it shall be, when your children say to you, ‘What do you mean by this service?’ 27that you shall say, ‘It is the Passover sacrifice of the LORD, who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt when He struck the Egyptians and
delivered our households.’ ” So the people bowed their heads and worshiped.
Luke 22:19 – 19And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.”
What God-memory is most special to you? Look ahead.
1 Cor 11:26 – 26For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death till He comes.
What are you looking forward to with God?
Mt 26:29 – 29But I say to you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in My Father’s kingdom.”
