Sunday April 21, 2013 – We may go through times of where we feel distant from God and are spiritually asleep. God commands us to wake up and repent, resurrecting our relationship with Him.

You can live again. You can live passionately for Jesus Christ. You can have a satisfaction that comes from knowing and serving him. – Pastor Dwayne Terry

Live Again, Part 04

Revelation 1:18 – I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.

Spiritual Emptiness

Revelation 3:1-3 – “To the angel of the church in Sardis write: These are the words of him who holds the seven spirits of God and the seven stars. I know your deeds; you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead. Wake up! Strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have not found your deeds complete in the sight of my God. Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; obey it, and repent. But if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time I will come to you.”

 Unrelenting trial and temptation.

Psalm 143:3-6 – “The enemy pursues me, he crushes me to the ground; he makes me dwell in darkness like those long dead. So my spirit grows faint within me; my heart within me is dismayed.”

 Personal tragedy.
Psalm 61:2 – “When my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to a rock that is

higher than I.”

 Attacks from others.
Psalm 109:3 – “With words of hatred they surround me; they attack me

without cause.”

 Working without rest.

Psalm 63:1-2 – “O God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you, in a dry and weary land where there is no water.”

 Guilt and shame.

Psalm 38:4 – My guilt has overwhelmed me like a burden too heavy to bear.

Isaiah 55:1-5 (NLT) – “Is anyone thirsty? Come and drink— even if you have no money! Come, take your choice of wine or milk— it’s all free! Why spend your money on food that does not give you strength? Why pay for food that does you no good? Listen to me, and you will eat what is good. You will enjoy the finest food.” “Come to me with your ears wide open. Listen, and you will find life. I will make an everlasting covenant with you. I will give you all the unfailing love I promised to David.” See how I used him to display my power among the peoples. I made him a leader among the nations. You also will command nations you do not know, and peoples unknown to you will come running to obey, because I, the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, have made you glorious.”

  •   Respond to the invitation.
