Sunday October 27, 2013 – Preparing for aging parents, or our own aging is not something that is easy to think about. We need to understand and realize that our preparation can be monetary, emotionally or physically, but preparing ourselves spiritually is the most important.
Preparation comes from an eternal perspective, comes from a greater source. – Mark Hicks
Preparing for the Winter of Life
Stages of Life, Part 04
1 Corinthians 3:11-14 (NKJV) – For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, 13 each one’s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is. 14 If anyone’s work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward.
Philippians 3:10 (NKJV) – that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death,
Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV) – But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
Ephesians 5:31-32 (NKJV) – “For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” 32 This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
Galatians 6:9 (NKJV) – And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
Ephesians 4:32 (NKJV) – And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ forgave you.
1 Corinthians 2:11 (NKJV) – lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices
Matthew 13:22 (NKJV) – Now he who received seed among the thorns is he who hears the word, and the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful.
Philippians 2:3-4 (NKJV) – Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. 4 Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others
1 Corinthians 3:9 – For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, you are God’s building.
2 Timothy 4:6-7 (NKJV) – For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. 7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
Psalms 71:9-11 NKJV Do not cast me off in the time of old age; Do not forsake me when my strength fails. 10 For my enemies speak against me; And those who lie in wait for my life take counsel together, 11 Saying, “God has forsaken him; Pursue and take him, for there is none to deliver him.”
