Sunday Aug 24th, 2014 – Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we,though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.

When you are headed into the greatest battle of your life, you should be thinking, how do i serve others? How do i give to others?
How do i encourage others? Only when we have that wounded healer mentality, is when we will win the battle. – Dwayne Terry

One Body In Christ

BYOT, Part 04

 See the church as one unified organism.

Romans 12:4-5 – For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, 5 so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.

 Share your gifts to make the interconnectedness work.

Romans 12:6-8 – We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; 7 if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; 8 if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.

o Four are virtues all Christians must have:

  1. “Serving” – Galatians 5:13 – serve one another humbly in love
  2. “Encourage” – Hebrews 3:13 – encourage one another daily…
  3. “Giving” – Ephesians 4:28 – …share with those in need
  4. “Mercy” – Luke 6:36 – Be merciful just as your Father is

merciful.

 Maintain a web of intentional, deepening, regularly nurtured relationships.

John 13:14 – Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet.
