Sunday November 01, 2015 – Psalm 33:4-5 – For the word of the LORD is right & true; he is faithful in all he does. 5 The LORD loves righteousness & justice; the earth is full of his unfailing love.
God has unstained principles, God has unlimited power, God has unstoppable purpose, God has universal oversight, God has unchanging passion, so our uninhibited response is praise. –Dwayne Terry
A Love You Can Count On
1 John 4:8 – “God is love.”
God has unstained principles.
Psalm 33:4-5 – For the word of the LORD is right & true; he is faithful in all he does. 5 The LORD loves righteousness & justice; the earth is full of his unfailing love.
God has unlimited power.
Psalm 33:6-9 – By the word of the LORD were the heavens made, their starry host by the breath of his mouth. 7 He gathers the waters of the sea into jars; he puts the deep into storehouses. 8 Let all the earth fear the LORD; let all the people of the world revere him. 9 For he spoke, & it came to be; he commanded, & it stood firm.
Psalm 91:1-2 – “he who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge & my fortress, my God, in whom I trust”‘
Psalm 31:19-20 – How great is your goodness, which you have stored up for those who fear you, which you bestow in the sight of men on those who take refuge in you. 20 In the shelter of your presence you hide them from the intrigues of men; in your dwelling you keep them safe from accusing tongues.
Psalm 61:3-4 – For you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the foe. 4 I long to dwell in your tent forever & take refuge in the shelter of your wings.
God has unstoppable purpose.
Psalm 33:10-12 – The LORD foils the plans of the nations; he thwarts the purposes of the peoples. 11 But the plans of the LORD stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations. 12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people he chose for his inheritance.
Proverbs 19:21 – Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the LORD’S purpose that prevails.
Proverbs 21:30-31 – There is no wisdom, no insight, no plan that can succeed against the LORD. 31 The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but victory rests with the LORD.
Isaiah 46:10 – I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say: my purpose will stand, & I will do all that I please.
Acts 2:23 – This man [Jesus] was handed over to you by God’s set purpose & foreknowledge; & you, with the help of wicked men, put him to death by nailing him to the cross.
Acts 4:28 – did what your [God’s] power and will had decided beforehand should happen
God has universal oversight.
Psalm 33:13-15 – From heaven the LORD looks down & sees all mankind; 14 from his dwelling place he watches all who live on earth—15 he who forms the hearts of all, who considers everything they do.
Psalm 11:4 – “The LORD is in his holy temple; the LORD is on his heavenly throne. He observes the sons of men; his eyes examine them”
God has unchanging passion.
Psalm 33:16-22 – No king is saved by the size of his army; no warrior escapes by his great strength. 17 A horse is a vain hope for deliverance; despite all its great strength it cannot save. 18 But the eyes of the LORD are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love, 19 to deliver them from death & keep them alive in famine. 20 We wait in hope for the LORD; he is our help & our shield. 21 In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name. 22 May your unfailing love rest upon us, O LORD, even as we put our hope in you.
Our uninhibited response is praise.
Psalm 33:1-3 – Sing joyfully to the LORD, you righteous; it is fitting for the upright to praise him. 2 Praise the LORD with the harp; make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre. 3 Sing to him a new song; play skillfully, & shout for joy.
