Jesus Is on the Porch

Revelation 3:16 ESV …I will spit you out of my mouth.

Revelation 3:20 ESVBehold, I stand at the door and knock.

Revelation 3:16 ESVSo, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth.

  • A lukewarm person is not defined by a feeling you experience; it is a condition of the soul.
  • A lukewarm person is selfreliant.

Revelation 3:17 ESVFor you say, I am rich, I have prospered, and I need nothing…

  • A lukewarm person is unaware of his poverty.

Revelation 3:17b ESV… not realizing that you are wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked.

The Counsel From the Porch

  • Take some risks with your faith in Jesus.

Revelation 3:18-19 ESV I counsel you to buy from me gold refined by fire, so that you may be rich, and white garments so that you may clothe yourself and the shame of your nakedness may not be seen, and salve to anoint your eyes, so that you may see. 19 Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent.

  • Conquer the doors in your life.

Revelation 3:20-21 ESV – Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me. 21 The one who conquers, I will grant him to sit with me on my throne, as I also conquered and sat down with my Father on his throne.

Revelation 12:11 ESV And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death.

Romans 8:37 ESVNo, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
