From the “The Father’s Heart” series. Sermon 3 of 5
Romans 8:29 – For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.
2 Corinthians 3:18 – And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
Exodus 19:21-22 – and the LORD said to him, “Go down and warn the people so they do not force their way through to see the LORD and many of them perish. 22 Even the priests, who approach the LORD, must consecrate themselves, or the LORD will break out against them.”
Isaiah 59:2 – But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear.
- Jesus has taken away our sin.
Hebrews 9:12, 14 – He did not enter by means of the blood of goats and calves; but he entered the Most Holy Place once for all by his own blood, thus obtaining eternal redemption. … 14 How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!
Hebrews 2:17 – For this reason he had to be made like them, fully human in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people.
- Jesus has become our mediator.
Hebrews 9:15 – For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant…
Hebrews 10:12, 14 – But when this priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God, … 14 For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.
Romans 3:25 (NKJV) – whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His
forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed,
hilastḗrion [hil-as-tay’-ree-on] propitiation, used of the cover of the Ark of the Covenant in the Holy of Holies

1 Peter 2:9 – But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
Revelation 1:6 – [Jesus] has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father…

Matthew 28:18-20 – Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
- You are an agent of redemption in your home.
Ephesians 5:25-26 – Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her 26 to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word,
1 Corinthians 7:14 – For the unbelieving husband has been sanctified through his wife, and the unbelieving wife has been sanctified through her believing husband. Otherwise your children would be unclean, but as it is, they are holy.
